Is eggs good for a diet ?
Eggs are the wholesome food that can be found on the face of the earth. Excepting some of the nutrients it is bestowed with all the nutrition that is required for a good growth and maintenance of the body. Eggs are a rich source of all nutrients except vitamin C. the nutritional value of egg is beyond imagination and thus it is regarded as one of the “complete” food that can be included in one’s diet.
The nutritional storehouse
The different vitamins that are present in the egg perform particular functions which help in the growth and development of our body. For instance, vitamin A is essential for an individual’s normal growth and development. Vitamin D which is present in the egg yolk helps on mineral absorption and thus gives growth to a good bone health. Vitamin E protects from some certain cancers and also cardiac ailments. The iodine and phosphorous present in eggs is very much essential for making thyroid hormones and maintaining normal teeth and bone health. Eggs have been also regarded to be the best source of albumin and glutamine. Both of these are required for our body as they are other wise less abundant in other food products. The lutein found in eggs has a protective effect on the heart as it slows down the development of atherosclerosis.
Why should one have eggs?
An egg diet is one of the most inexpensive ways to loose weight as after the intake of eggs it takes at least 6-8 hours to feel hungry again. Moreover it is one of the economical ways of obtaining protein too. Since eggs are a perishable item so it is better and wise for refrigerating them.
It is futile to argue which came first: the egg or the chicken, but it is true that both came before the evolution of man. So one should actually enjoy the nutritional content of this particular food product and get the maximum benefit from it. But one should be aware of the fact that this one creation of God which gives us the maximum benefits nutrition wise. Hence eggs should be included in one’s diurnal diet.
